I recently earned a Master of Arts in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Science. Originally from Los Angeles, I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of University of California, Berkeley, where I earned an English degree and a minor in music.
I have been an avid reader since picking up The Boxcar Children at the age of seven. However, I studied English literature not just to have the opportunity to spend my days reading, but to learn to write well. I enjoy reading and studying multiple types of writing, including fictional narrative, poetry, creative nonfiction, and both long and short form journalism. Areas of interest for my own writing are literary, music and arts criticism, education, health, the environment, and feminism. I also dabble in crafting poems.
Please see my writing page for samples of my work.
